Volunteer Projects in Central & South America
We provide volunteer work opportunities throughout Central and South America including Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Guatemala and Peru. The projects we offer have been carefully chosen and range from helping street children to monitoring wildcats such as puma and ocelots. These projects are run by reputable organisations and offer some of the lowest cost and most rewarding volunteer experiences in Central and South America.
There are hundreds of volunteer organisations looking for global volunteers and you can see some examples of the projects you could join on this web page. Please note that these are just a few examples of the projects we can send you in a volunteer guide.

Reforestation and Farm Work
This project manages and protects over six thousand hectares of native forest. It has reforested hundreds of hectares of dry tropical forest in abandoned pasture lands or burned areas within the forest since its inauguration. Help is needed to record data on tree growth and mortality in selected parcels, which will help determine future reforestation efforts, including species composition, etc., as well as research information in local libraries on certain tree species to use in future education programmes. The project has also set up an integrated organic farm in the reserve buffer zone to provide alternatives to the slash-and-burn agriculture that was previously used. Volunteers are needed in various projects including beekeeping, agroforestry, integrated pest management, and small animal husbandry (guinea pigs, chickens, ducks).
This project provides the opportunity to make a meaningful contribution towards the protection of a tropical forest.
