General Disclaimer

Although every effort is made to ensure that the information published on this Website is correct and up-to-date, you hereby acknowledge that any reliance upon the information shall be at your own risk. In no event shall Volunteer Latin America be liable for any loss or damage caused by errors, omissions, misleading information or any potential travel problem caused by information displayed on this Website.

Website Access and Accounts

You do not need to register in order to use most parts of this Website. However, particular areas of this Website will only be accessible if you have registered.  You must register to become a member of Volunteer Latin America.  You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of the username and password that you designate during registration. You must notify Volunteer Latin America immediately if you suspect a breach of security, such as theft of account, or unauthorised use of an account’s username and password. We take no responsibility for the misuse of membership accounts.

Membership Eligibility

To become a member you must be of legal age and capacity.  We reserve the right to refuse membership at any time in our sole discretion.  Your membership is personal to you and non-transferable.

Membership (General)

All levels of membership enable you to fully view all projects, apply for any project, and post a project review for any voluntary organisation.

Basic Membership

You may choose to become a Basic Member. Basic Members must make all arrangements directly with the voluntary organisation. We provide information only to Basic Members and do not participate in the arrangements process, unless they fail to receive a response from a voluntary organisation.

Premium Membership

If you choose to become a Premium Member, we can identify potential projects (to help the Member make the right choice), and are on-hand throughout the membership period should the Member have any questions or require guidance. We will work with you one-on-one to find a voluntary organisation that’s a good match for you. If you choose to use the 'Leads' service, we will determine your personal interests and requirements for your ideal volunteer experience and send some 'leads' in the form of clickable URLs (10-15 project options). The Member is responsible for scrutinizing and evaluating the project options sent to them, and making direct contact with voluntary organisations if they have any questions or want to apply. If you choose to use the 'Buzz' service, we will determine your personal interests and requirements for your ideal volunteer experience to find potential matches with voluntary organisations. We will send your personal information and any accompanying documents to suitable voluntary organisations. The Member is responsible for replying to any emails from voluntary organisations and subsequent arrangements. If you choose to use the 'Fly' service, we will determine your travel requirements and search for flight deals. The Member is responsible for scrutinizing and evaluating the flight suggestions sent to them and booking flights.

Payment

To become a Basic or Premium member of Volunteer Latin America, you must pay the applicable membership fee indicated upon registration.  Payment is made via PayPal which is an independent payment processor.  It is your responsibility to ensure that you submit current, complete and correct payment details and we shall not be responsible for any losses or damages of any kind as a result of using PayPal.

Cancellation of Membership

You may cancel your membership at any time by contacting us.  Cancellation shall not entitle you to a refund.  We reserve the right to cancel membership or restrict access to this Website in the event of violation of these Terms at any time without refund.

Refund Policy

We do not provide membership refunds. Membership fees are exempt from any statutory cooling-off period due to the immediate nature of the product.

Arranging Your Travel

All volunteers and students must make their own travel arrangements, including in-country transportation. We recommend that any travel tickets purchased are refundable or exchangeable. Any information given by us on travel to and between projects is provided at our discretion and on a goodwill basis only. Please ensure you have all the relevant travel documents, full passport, the required visas, vaccination certificates, currency and access to sufficient personal funds BEFORE departing your home country. We cannot accept any responsibility if you are refused admittance to any country due to not having the correct documentation.

Visas and Passports

All volunteers and students are responsible for securing any necessary visas and ensuring valid travel documents.  In many cases, your passport must be valid for a minimum of six months after the date of entry into the country you are visiting.  Volunteer Latin America is not responsible for your visa acquisition or any of your travel expenses. We recommend you contact the nearest consulate or embassy of the country you wish to visit to ensure you have the most recent and accurate information.

Travel and Medical insurance

Volunteer Latin America accepts no liability nor will be held responsible in any way for work or study related incidents under any circumstances. We highly recommend that all volunteers and students obtain adequate travel and/or medical insurance.

Medical decisions are the responsibility of each volunteer or student.
