Reviews

Great experience
"We had the chance to do a last minute volunteering at the farm as some volunteers had to leave earlier. (In peak season you should arrange your stay way in advance >6 months). So we only stayed there for one week but this gave us enough time in November to explore Santa Cruz and the region around Bella Vista. As Puerto Ayora is quite busy and touristy we actually preferred to stay away from the crowds, which is why Bella Vista is a great place. You still have a bakery, mini markets and restaurants and Puerta Ayora is just 15mins away by bus. The living on the farm is basic but you usually have a whole house for yourself which also includes a kitchen so you can prepare your own meals you only have to share it with geckos and millipedes. Karina, Daniel, their kids and the ladies helping on the farm are very kind and helpful. We only had to work in the mornings (7:30-11:30) therefore we had plenty of time to go snorkelling, hiking, visit the turtle farms and the Darwin Center. If you want to do Galapagos on a budget and have the time for it we definitely recommend this place!!!"- Michael Holzmeier
