We are a non-governmental organization that accepts used bicycles donated from abroad which we recondition or sell, or use the components to build a range of “bicimaquinas” (pedal-powered machines). These perform a variety of tasks like threshing corn, blending food or pumping water.

Duration of program:
Long term volunteers preferred (e.g. 2 months). Short-term volunteers are considered.
Age requirement:
Adults of both sexes 18+ (volunteers aged 16 and 17 accepted with their parents permission)
Cost:
US$25 per week which includes lodging, kitchen with stove and refrigerator, hot water in the showers, and internet access. Volunteers are responsible for buying and cooking their own meals.
Other information:
We have friendly teachers that provide Spanish classes for a modest cost.
