"As soon as I arrived I felt so welcomed and supported by the staff and other volunteers. My role while I was there included playing games with the children, helping them complete the activities set out for the day and helping with the distribution of snacks at the end of the session. It was a great experience and aided not only my confidence but also helped to develop my Spanish language. They have created a fun, safe and energetic environment to go to and I would 100% recommend spending time there!"- Sarah Nathan
"During my two months here I was able to get a good insight into what life in the development sector is about. Day to day tasks included translation, organising fundraising events, developing their M&E system, writing project reports and grant applications. I was given guidance where I needed it but also was allowed to just get on with the task myself. I am really appreciative of the experience this organisation gave me and felt like I was treated like a member of staff rather than just a volunteer. The staff did everything they could for me to get the most out of the experience but also enjoy my time with them. As a result, I learned a lot about the community the organisation works with and how their everyday struggles affect the organisation. This experience also taught me a lot about myself as you have to be quite independent, but it made me more confident as a person. I am thoroughly grateful of my experience with this organisation and would recommend to anyone aiming to pursue a career in development or people just looking to help out a good cause!"- Gwenn Le Bihan
"I spent a month volunteering here and it was an amazing experience. The kids were so wonderful and full of energy. As a volunteer, I got to spend most of my time playing with the kids and helping to organize activities. I am currently studying to go into education and I felt like I learnt to a lot at this project. Xela was a great city to stay in with many great hikes around, so there is lots to keep you busy on the weekend. I would highly recommend volunteering here if you like working with kids."- Alyssa Taburiaux
