Volunteering Abroad Shouldn't Cost the Earth

Make a Lasting Impact in the Amazon Peru

Description

Our mission: "life flourishes!" We are a non-profit organization, a collective of individuals who research, promote, and protect egalitarian, inclusive, and interconnected lifestyles, honouring indigenous wisdom and Permaculture principles. The Chaikuni are ancestors of the Shipibo indigenous people. They are the spiritual guardians of the Peruvian Amazon and actively serve the well-being of this vast jungle on energetic and spiritual levels. In community with the spirits of plants, trees, and animals, they provide an invaluable repository of spiritual, medicinal, and ecological services not only for local tribes but also for the entire world.

Our volunteer program offers you the unique opportunity to live in the Amazon while putting your knowledge and skills into practice. You will work on projects at our Permaculture Center, with possibilities to also work in the 4 local communities we collaborate with. This program is designed for individuals with excellent physical fitness and the ability to speak Spanish well.

First Month:

Following the Local Rhythm During the first month, you will immerse yourself in the work rhythm of our local employees. You will learn from their experience and contribute to our conservation and community development projects. Additionally, as part of our comprehensive approach, each week you will receive a course introducing you to permaculture.

Second Month: Your Project, Your Leadership

In the second month, you will meet with our coordinators, Diego and Yann, to select a project that you can lead and contribute to Chaikuni. This phase encourages collaboration and innovation, allowing you to make a significant difference.

Third Month: Growing and Expanding

The third month is a natural continuation. If appropriate, you will take on more responsibilities and contribute more deeply to our efforts. This phase sets the stage for your possible transition to becoming a long-term resident.

From Monday to Friday, you will work from 7am to 1pm. Afterward, you will have free time to explore the town, participate in sports activities, rest, read, study, and take advantage of our community learning spaces. Your time with us will not only be a transformative experience for you but also a valuable contribution to our collective effort to preserve the Amazon and empower local communities. We are eager to welcome passionate and committed individuals like you to our volunteer program! Together, we can make a lasting impact on the Amazon and the world.
