Reviews

"I can honestly say that my time volunteering with the Foundation has changed my life forever! My experience started with three months of tutoring English and helping with the after-school outreach program in Guayaquil, Ecuador. I had the privilege of meeting and working with teenagers fighting to stay in school, even though they live in impoverished areas where they deal with huge pressure to leave their education behind and focus on more immediate ways to put food on the table. I was so moved by the passion, determination and grace of the people I met that I returned to Ecuador the year after, for another three-month volunteering stint. This second experience really cemented my belief in the amazing and necessary work that the Foundation does, and it even led to me eventually moving to Ecuador! In practical terms, the staff at the Foundation took great care of me as a volunteer. The people I worked with quickly became a second family to me almost immediately, and there was always someone on-hand to help me out with practical concerns like handling living costs and the language barrier. Although I no longer live there, I still volunteer remotely with the Foundation, and I've been so impressed by how they've grown over the last couple of years. I'm sure they'll go on to do even greater things in the future. All they need is a few more helping hands, so if you can volunteer your time to help a disadvantaged child to stay in school, I'd say - grab that opportunity with both hands! :)"- Sanchia Rodrigues
