Cost:
There is a cost of US$50 to cover training expenses (weaving workshop and a visit to the communities) and volunteers are responsible for covering their own living expenses. You can expect to pay around US$200 for a small, private apartment per month. We can also assist in organising a homestay with a Guatemalan family. At times, we may be able to offer accommodation for US$100 per month.

Other information:
Volunteers learn about traditional Maya culture, including medicinal plants and backstrap weaving, and are encouraged to take a weaving class to better understand the traditional art we work to preserve and promote. Volunteers practice their Spanish, as well as help our Guatemalan staff improve their English.
